We would like to thank all contestants! 150 artists from Slovakia and Czech republic registered in our first competition. Therefore the decision of jury was really not easy.

Category: painting
Technique: oil, pastel, watercolour, gouache or mixed media (including collage) on canvas, paper, wood or plywood (carton)
Region: authors should be from Slovakia and Czech republic (by signing up for the competition, you confirm that you are a citizen of one of these countries)
Format: all works must be registered in .jpg format using the registration form on the website
Each image must have minimum size of 200 KB, a maximum of 5 MB
Maximum dimensions: 100 x 100 cm (or max. 1,2 m²)
Registration: 15 EUR / 1 registered artwork (by 28.02.2019 – 12 EUR / artwork)
Number of registered works is not limited
The submitted works must be created over the last 5 years. If you would like to submit an older work, please contact us at info@hladameumelcov.sk
Higher education is not required. We are SEARCHING FOR ARTISTS who are gifted.
Deadline for entries: 30.04.2019
In the case of winning, the works must be available for exhibition.
The submitted works will be judged by the jury below. The works will be evaluated anonymously (without mentioning the author's name) so that each contestant has the same chance of winning.

The main prize is the exhibition for the first three selected authors with a total value of 2000 EUR in the centre of Bratislava with following services:
Melita Fodor Gwerková was raised in an artistic environment and she inherited her relationship to art from her ancestors – Edmund Gwerk, Slovak modernist painter. She studied the International Business at the University of Economics in Bratislava and then passed professional internship of Economy and financing of the culture at l´Université Dauphine in Paris. Later she gained the experiences in financing of the cultural projects during her work in European Commission. In 2014 she passed her studies at prestigious auction house Sotheby´s in London. She is the owner of the private gallery Gallery Gwerk and so far she has organized dozens of successful exhibitions in Slovakia and abroad. Since November 2015 she has been writing about interesting news from the art world on blog gwerkova.blog.sme.sk (articles in Slovak only).
Besides this we will choose 7 finalists, who receive the certificate "Finalist Award" + promotion on our social networks.

In 1989 he graduated from the History of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Philosophy at Comenius University in Bratislava. As a curator he organizationally and theoretically (exhibition catalog) prepared a number of exhibitions of renowned Slovak artists in Slovakia and abroad. He is a member of the organizational team of the international triennial Textile Art of Today. He is the author or co-author of several monographs of respected contemporary Slovak artists: Andrej Augustín, Víťo Bojňanský, Karol Felix, Mário Flaugnatti, Igor Grossmann, Milan Lukáč, Marek Ormandík, Milan Ormandik, Igor Piačka, Júlia Piačková, Peter Pollág, Stano Trepač, Ján Ťapák and others. Currently, he is Editor-in-Chief of the ASB magazine of Architecture and Construction, which is published in JAGA publishing house.
